1 แหม ถ้าเธอได้เป็นพี่ชายของดิฉัน ผู้ได้ดูดนมจากอกมารดาของดิฉันก็จะดี เพราะเมื่อดิฉันพบเธอนอกบ้านดิฉันจะได้จุบเธอได้แล้วคนทั้งหลายจะได้ไม่ดูถูกดูหมิ่นดิฉัน
2 แล้วดิฉันจะได้เดินนำเธอ พาเธอให้เข้ามาในเรือนมารดาของดิฉัน เข้าไปในห้องของผู้ที่ให้ดิฉันได้ปฏิสนธิ์ ดิฉันจะได้ให้เธอดื่มเหล้าองุ่นใส่เครื่องเทศ และดื่มน้ำทับทิมของดิฉัน
3 แล้วแขนซ้ายของเขาจะช้อนใต้ศีรษะของดิฉันไว้และแขนขวาของเขาจะสอดกอดดิฉันไว้
4 โอ บุตรีแห่งเยรูซาเล็มเอ๋ย ดิฉันขอให้เธอทั้งหลายสาบานว่า เธอทั้งหลายจะไม่เร้าหรือจะไม่ปลุกความรักให้ตื่นกระตือขึ้น จนกว่าความรักจะจุใจแล้ว
ความรักเข้มแข็งดังความตาย
5 แม่คนนี้ที่ขึ้นมาจากถิ่นทุรกันดาร อิงแอบแนบมากับคู่รัก คือใครที่ไหนหนอ ดิฉันได้ปลุกเธอเมื่อเธออยู่ใต้ต้นท้อ ที่นั่นแหละที่มารดาของเธอได้ปวดร้าวเพราะเธอ ที่ตรงนั้นแหละผู้ที่คลอดเธอได้เจ็บครรภ์
6 จงแนบดิฉันไว้ให้เป็นเนื้อเดียวดุจดวงตราแขวนอยู่ที่ใจของเธอ ประดุจดวงตราบนแขนของเธอ เพราะความรักนั้นเข้มแข็งอย่างความตาย ความรักรุนแรงก็ดุเดือดเหมือนแดนคนตาย และประกายแห่งความรักรุนแรงนั้นก็คือประกายเพลิงคือประกายเพลิงที่แสนรุนแรง
7 น้ำมากหลายไม่อาจดับความรักให้มอดเสียได้ หรืออุทกธารทั้งหลายไม่อาจท่วมความรักให้สำลักตายเสียได้ แม้ว่าคนใดจะเอาทรัพย์สมบัติในเหย้าเรือนของตนทั้งสิ้นมาแลกกับความรักนั้น คนนั้นคงได้รับความหมิ่นประมาทจากคนทั้งหลายเป็นอย่างยิ่ง
8 เรามีน้องสาวคนหนึ่ง และเธอยังไม่มีถัน เราจะทำอย่างไรกับน้องสาวของเรา เมื่อถึงวันที่เขามาสู่ขอน้องของเรา
9 ถ้าหากน้องสาวนั้นเป็นกำแพง เราก็จะสร้างสันปราการเงินไว้ และถ้าหากน้องเป็นประตู พวกเราจะเอากลอนไม้สนสีดาร์ขัดบานประตูเสีย
10 ดิฉันเป็นกำแพง ถันทั้งสองของดิฉันเหมือนดังหอคอย เพราะฉะนั้นในสายตาของเขา ดิฉันเป็นดังผู้นำความเกษมศานต์มา
11 ซาโลมอนทรงมีสวนองุ่นอยู่แปลงหนึ่งที่เมืองบาอัลฮาโมนพระองค์ทรงมอบสวนองุ่นนั้นให้แก่ผู้รักษาสวนเช่าทุกคนต้องส่งเงินคนละพันแผ่นเป็นค่าผลไม้
12 สวนองุ่นของดิฉัน ซึ่งเป็นของดิฉันเอง อยู่ต่อหน้าดิฉัน ข้าแต่ซาโลมอน พันนั้นพระองค์เอาไปเถิด และผู้ดูแลผลไม้ในสวนนั้นก็เอา ไปคนละสองร้อยเถิด
13 โอ เธอ ผู้อยู่ในสวน พวกเพื่อนๆของเธอคอยฟังเสียงของเธออยู่ ขอให้ฉันได้ยินเสียงเธอ
14 ที่รักของดิฉันจ๋า เร็วๆเข้าเถอะจ๊ะ ขอให้เธอเป็นดังละมั่ง หรือกวางหนุ่ม บนภูเขาต้นสีเสียดเถิด

Song of Solomon 8
1 O that thou [wert] as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! [when] I should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, I should not be despised.
2 I would lead thee, [and] bring thee into my mother's house, [who] would instruct me: I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate.
3 His left hand [should be] under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.
4 I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that ye stir not up, nor awake [my] love, until he please.
5 Who [is] this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth [that] bare thee.
6 Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love [is] strong as death; jealousy [is] cruel as the grave: the coals thereof [are] coals of fire, [which hath a] most vehement flame.
7 Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if [a] man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.
8 We have a little sister, and she hath no breasts: what shall we do for our sister in the day when she shall be spoken for?
9 If she [be] a wall, we will build upon her a palace of silver: and if she [be] a door, we will inclose her with boards of cedar.
10 I [am] a wall, and my breasts like towers: then was I in his eyes as one that found favour.
11 Solomon had a vineyard at Baal-hamon; he let out the vineyard unto keepers; every one for the fruit thereof was to bring a thousand [pieces] of silver.
12 My vineyard, which [is] mine, [is] before me: thou, O Solomon, [must have] a thousand, and those that keep the fruit thereof two hundred.
13 Thou that dwellest in the gardens, the companions hearken to thy voice: cause me to hear [it].
14 Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices.
